There are many things that I desire to write about. However, I think the one that is laying on my heart the most is gratefulness.
There are so many things we take for granted.
Like the little laughs we share each day, the time that we spend with our families and friends, all the inside jokes that we come up with- the fact that we as humans are able to share such a bond. Our health, our senses- the fact that we are able to share such joy in the simplicity of tasting our favorite food, or enjoy the smell of a flower. It’s these things, these little things, that we take for granted.
We are so distracted sometimes that we don't even realize the miracles all around us.
The miracle that we are breathing,
The miracle of a new day,
The miracle of you.
You are a miracle.
Oftentimes in a distracting world it is very easy to forget your value- your value as a daughter of the King of Kings. Your value by the creator of the universe! Just think about it; the same God who made all the stars in the galaxy, the same God who made all the beautiful flowers, the same God who created those cute little animals like ducks, is the same God who created you! You are a part of His creation- and isn't that just beautiful!
Society has its ways of twisting “beauty” around and making you think it’s about what jean size you wear and things of that matter, but the truth is, that’s not what beauty is at all. In fact, you are already beautiful because the one who created you is beauty of itself. Think about that for a second. If God, the one who created everything of its beauty and is beauty, created you, then that makes you beautiful too.
Sometimes I catch myself caught up in the tricky lie of society when it comes to this, so I bring it to Jesus’ feet at Adoration when I remember to. When I do this, I never regret it. I never regret it because everytime He reminds me that I am His beautiful creation. He reminds me that what society has created is just a way to distract from the masterpieces He’s created. Everytime I visit Him with this, I always leave feeling beautiful again.
If you struggle with this too, I highly encourage you to bring it to Jesus and allow Him to remind you of how beautiful you truly are!
At this moment, let us take the time to thank God for all the little things He’s so graciously given to us, and let us especially thank Him for creating us and allowing us to be a part of His beautiful creation!
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." -Psalm 139:4
